Nutrition is a key factor in recovery and peformance and but seems to be surrounded by endless marketing plans promising all sorts of results that at best are probably not going to be acheived and at worst may actually have a negative impact.
So I guess some of you may not want to read the next part, but eating healthily is just about consuming a balanced diet, not whether you should eat red meat if there is 'Y' in the month or maybe no fish if the temperature drops below 8 degrees centigrade (OK, tongue firmly in cheek), but actually consuming a similar amount of calories per day to the amount that you use. Although there are certain medical conditions that may affect a persons nutritional requirements, most of us just need to eat a balanced diet, not sexy I know, but that is just the way it is.
