Physiotherapist, Sports Scientist and Strength & Conditioning Specialist 

Dean is the CEO and Performance Director of Optimum Physiotherapy & Sports Medicine, and also a Chartered Physiotherapist, Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Exercise Physiologist/Biomechanist.

He has been working within the private sector for over 17 years and has had experience in many areas of professional sport including positions within premier league football and national league rugby union clubs.

He has combined his sports physiotherapy background with his understanding of musculoskeletal investigation to help assist him in identifying the primary cause of many of his clients problems and has been very successful with this method in treating chronic conditions when results have evaded his peers. Dean also specialises in sports specific conditioning and nutrition and works with a variety of sport teams and individuals ranging from ironman competitors to professional footballers.

He also lectures in sport science at the University of Bedfordshire, specialising in sport rehabilitation, biomechanics and sports specific conditioning and also writes for Country Walking magazine. Dean also holds the position of sports medicine consultant for East Midlands RFU, as well as Bedfordshire County, East Northants and Northern Alliance RFU's.

As well as holdings a 1st Class Honours Degree and being awarded the Valedictorian Award for Sports Science, Dean holds the internationally recognised Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is pursuing his research towards his PhD in Exercise Physiology (Biodynamics) at Imperial College London.

  • Optimisation of training plans for performance and injury rehabilitation
